Summer Songs - "Summertime"

Tomorrow is officially the first day of summer, so I thought I'd get you in the mood with a few summer songs.
DJ Jazzy Jeff and The Fresh Prince (you know him as Will Smith) were a successful hip-hop duo from Philadelphia. They are a two-time Grammy Award winner, including one for their 1991 hit "Summertime".
"Summertime" was quite popular, a Certified Platinum record that peaked at #4 on Billboard's Hot 100 chart, and hit #8 in the UK.
Sure, the duo were doing hip-hop light, but darned if "Summertime" isn't as smooth as silk, capturing the essence of the season beautifully.
A great summer song for, hopefully, a great summer.

It's finally feeling a little bit like summer here today. Ah, the Fresh Prince. Little did we know back then how his star would rise. Hip-hop light, maybe, but he knew how to appeal to the regular folks. A lot of us are not that hip.

When I was doing my AIT training at Ft. Gordon, we used to watch the video for "Sometimes Parents Just Don't Understand" at one of the Canteens on post. I would always say that someone needs to give this guy a TV show. And they did!

@teamfreak16 And, that was just the beginning. Look at the success he's had in movies.

I like the original "In the Summer Time" without the extra stuff from The Fresh Prince. Another would be "Summer in the City" Lovin' Spoonful
A 1966 hit single by Lovin' Spoonful. Written by John Sebastian, Mark Sebastian and Steve Boone. I've had many queries about this video... it's a clip from t...

That's a good one! I'm hoping to get to that, unless someone else uses it first, which is totally fine.
