wake up and smell the coffee!

I woke up this morning and discovered that my sense of smell has {hopefully temporarily} gone on a wander. I can smell nothing. I can't smell the bread that will be toasting in the staffroom down the corridor. I can't smell the cleaning stuff in the toilets. I can't smell the pleasant aroma of early morning coffee. It is highly likely that my sense of smell will return, albeit in a lesser form than usual, when young Dickie enters the room with his breakfast. The pungent whiff of bacon, egg and sausage will surely wheedle its way into my nosebuds, trying to tantalise me and make my belly rumble. I have a Lemsip, discovered hiding in the back of the kitchen cupboard, all alone. However, there is a lack of water in the office kettle and Oompf isn't available to go and fill it up for me. In the meantime I shall be munching on my Halls Soothers {with real blackcurrant juice!} and sniffling my way through the day. I can't even smell my vapour rub. Does it still work if you can't smell it? *sigh*
