. Last Saturday, 18th of June , we celebrated father in-law's 90th birthday. .. We planned to book a restaurant to celebrate his birthday so we can all just relax. But in the end, we decided to just have a family get together here at home because he is now at that stage where he gets tired easily.. So I was busy preparing all the food the day before. I am not a good cook and I don't like cooking. But I don't mind cooking for my family. Most of them actually love my cooking and they look forward to eating.. I noticed that father in-law can no longer tolerate the noise of the little ones ( great grand children ) like he used to.. But, he is really lucky to be ninety years old and can still move around without any aid of walking stick..But he's a little forgetful now.. I imagine myself when I get to that age, and I reckon I would be fully unaware of my own existence.. My memories would be all wiped out .. I suppose it would be a good thing .. But honestly, I can't see myself pass the age of 80 .. of course I will be grateful if I do and still able to look after myself and still doing the things I enjoy doing like writing and interacting with people from all over the world on sites like MyLot .. Can you see yourself at ninety?.. Bess..

You must look after your health so that no matter what age you get to, you won't feel too uncomfortable with all the discomfort of the ageing process..

Joy, thanks for asking .. Yes , my stepchildren love Filipino food .. And they love my cooking , whereas my sons aren't that crazy about Filipino foods ...lol Anyway, I cooked a couple of Filipino dishes ( my own homemade pork tocino and marinated beef ) and I cooked Korean beef bbq .. baked creamed chicken, beef curry , creamed pasta , meat rolls , vietnamese spring rolls and we had king prawns..and I cooked buttered rice .. My sister in law, made all the salads ;) . For dessert , I made pavlova and trifle .. Oh my! I can't believe I prepared all that.. No wonder I was so tired it took me three days to recover after ..lol..

It could be everyone's wish, to live longer and still be active. Like you, I am wishing that I can do myLot even at that age; or enjoy my grandchildren when that time comes.

Firstly, congratulations to your father-in-law. He probably preferred to have his celebrations in the comfort of your home. That cake looks beautiful.
