A hot sticky uncomfortable night followed by an early appointment with my welfare advisor which I always look forward to with dread.
I was reminded of forthcoming jobs fairs I am obliged to attend, with one new one added to the mix. I was also told to apply for a warehousing role with a firm who already rejected me once and which is a long distance away for reaching by public transport given the business shift patterns. The company was also recently severely criticised in the media for ill-treating and under-paying its staff.
A missing cat sought by of our neighbours actually turned up in our garden this afternoon. I went to the neighbour’s house but she was out. Unfortunately, the cat carries some kind of infection (her owner wants to get her treated) so I wasn’t prepared to risk letting it into our house as the infection could affect my old cat too. The cat went away hours before its owner came home.
I got a Freephone number for a housing advisory service and rang it to get the longest automated message I ever heard before it invited me to press one to listen to automated advice or press zero to talk to someone. I hit zero and got told ‘this service is currently unavailable. Please try again soon.’
Someone rated my Haiku book on Amazon, awarding it five stars – the maximum. Yay!
Thanks whoever you are.

Hopefully the Kitty can be reunited with its owner before something bad happens to it.
Job fairs don't sound much fun at all. Best of luck finding something that suits you, not too far away and with a good company.
And great news on your 5 star rating!

@nonersays yes, it seems quite docile and hopefully we can get it to its owner soon

I hope the cat just wandered around and comes back, it's dangerous out there for pets these days, unless it's a tiger.

Automated messages are the pits - not to mention those that lead to something being currently available. Did you feel like tearing your hair out?
