It's satisfying, writing a letter

I try to get a letter out every week or so, more when I think of it, to my grandma. Sometimes I try to write to my folks too. I need to do that again soon. I like using a really nice pen and old school onionskin, and I practice my cursive. Lately I've been having twice the fun writing letters, because I've been doing it on my new roll top desk. That was gotten for free, but at the cost of a bit of creative work getting it to and into the house! It's such a good feeling sitting in the art room, putting pen to paper. It's kind of timeless. If I have poetry to write, I should do it there. If I had a bit more time I'd keep up a journal there. I love email. Couldn't live without it. But I also really like putting a paper letter in the mail box and communicating in an older, slower style.

Right! It seemed like it would be tough to write in such a slow medium, back when I started, but it was kind of satisfying.

@Jessicalynnt and @Rohvannyn At one time I was involved in poetry postcards. Simple or long, poet's choice, just get it scribbled on the post card and zip it into a mail box. It was fun.

Perhaps it does, but I don't think of it that way.

I've been wracking my brain about writing a letter to you. Write about what? Guess I could copy out my journal entries. I love your photo. That desk is a beaut. So tidy. You sure you know me?

Sure I do! I just can't stand clutter anymore... drives me up a tree. I keep trying to think of ways to organize things. It's always like this just after a move. I see how clean and beautiful the new place is and am loath to fill it with stuff.

I completely agree! I take a lot more time reading a letter sent by mail rather than sent by email.
