An Agent at My Door

United States
June 27, 2016 6:15pm CST
June 27, 2016 I knew it would happen eventually. I spent three days in furious activity cleaning out my house in case the knock on the door came. And today that happened. Knock, knock, knock. The agent—her name is Tammy—was a petite woman, dark hair, nice smile, pleasant personality. We chatted for about fifteen minutes then she wanted to look through my house. Of course I complied. She was impressed. We shook hands and she left. My house will soon be listed for sale. I have a couple of other agents to talk to before I decide which one will represent me. Hard to believe this is finally happening. Leafblowerman will miss me. ::photo via Pixabay::

Is this your house shown in the picture? Very interesting. How much did you spend on that?

Aw, you'll miss Leafblowerman, won't you? The familiarity of the sound. The potatoes.

@blitzfrick Don't do it! I'll send you some speakers with big woofers for retaliation against all irritating noises.

@TheHorse I would LOVE that! I've used loud Greek music to quieten down my current neighbors now and then. LOLOL

I'm sure there will be many new noises to irritate me. Maybe I should get an iPod or something.

Now you'll have to live in a show house until you get an offer. Good luck with the sale and the move.

Oh don't I know it! My little stacks of comfortable and convenient clutter are arranged so that when showings are scheduled the clutter is easily whisked out of sight. The showings are just the warm-up, too, for the huge task of packing and moving. Ugh. I'll be glad when it's over. I'm not actually decided on where I'm moving in the short term. Or even in the long term. There's nothing like self-inflicted stress to make a person feel hyper-alive.

Have you decided where you are going to go once you've sold it?

I'm staying in Oregon for the short term, heading south of Portland, maybe to Eugene/Springfield or to the coast around Coos Bay/North Bend/Reedsport. Where I end up will be determined by rent prices. Later on, I'd like to move overseas. Thought seriously about Italy, but now focused on England or Ireland. One step at a time, though.

Is the picture the house you are buying or the one you are selling?

LOL, I'm pretty sure the noisy next door neighbors will miss my retaliatory full-volume Greek music. Yep, they'll miss it like they miss the measles!
