Have You Inherited Your Grandmother's Lace Hankies?

I was cleaning windows today at one house, and my helper noticed the window treatment. We asked the lady of the house about it and found that she'd put the hankies she'd inherited from her grandmother, mom and aunts up as a window treatment in one of the extra bedrooms. It was such a cool idea and she made it up herself. She put each one on it's own hook similar to the type used on shower bars. Each one is a bit different. She was tired of having them stored in a box. I told her she should put it on pinterest and I meant to get a photo of it, but forgot. Maybe next year I'll remember my camera to show everyone here. I couldn't find any images of women's hankies online either.

It will be a way for her to enjoy them anyway.

What a good idea. My grandma's old hankies languished in boxes for years. I think I finally got rid of them now though!

I never owned any, but I'm sure I'd never have thought of doing something like that either. I think she should share her idea on Pinterest, but I don't' think she uses it at all since she shrugged her shoulders at my suggestion.

@MarshaMusselman I used to use my grandma's old doilies on the coffee tables, etc. But I finally got rid of them too.

I really can't image how this would look. A hankie isn't large enough to cover a window so I am very confused. I do have all my grandmothers collection of hankies and that is what my family has always used instead of tissues.

It doesn't cover the whole window and is used like a valance, which is a short piece that sits atop a rod and allows you to see out the window.

That is a really good way to show them off, it would be a pity to keep them in a box.

I wish I could have provided a picture of them hanging on her window. It was really sweet and innovative too.
