Never-Ending

The saga just continues for me. Back on May 11 when I was coming back from the vet you might remember I had a tire that almost exploded. I had originally set an appointment for the following day for a front-end alignment but because I all of a sudden had to buy 4 used tires, I was unable to accomplish that. Well.....I decided to go have the alignment done today and have them replace the tie-rods that they said I needed replacing back then. Well...... After closer inspection of the car I needed: both front and rear struts replaced; the tie rods replaced; the rotors on all 4 brakes replaced and the rack & pinion assembly completely replaced. Cost???? $2,130.06 (after the 20% senior discount). After the technician applied CPR to me, I asked which 2 of the repairs were the most crucial. Turns out the rack & pinion assembly and the tie-rods. Since the tie-rods were literally rusted to the assembly, if one of them snapped while driving, I would have had no control over the car. Sooooo.....the price for those items???? $940.08 (after the senior discount). Since this repair will take roughly 7 hours to complete, I'll be up at the shop at 8 am and they will drive me home and pick me up when they're done. Remember me joking about going into prostitution OR entering a bank with a mask????? I'm considering it.

Oh dear Nanette! This is so unfortunate all these repairs need to be done. It certainly does cost an arm and a leg too. It also makes me happy that I dont have transportation anymore. It broke me with the repair bills the last one was a truck.

You made me laugh with that last remark . Indeed , repairs of cars entails a lot of money . We should be prepared for it .

What kills me @SIMPLYD is that I've had that car for 16 years and have only had 2 minor repairs.

You could probably buy a second-hand run-around for that price!

I recall the days when I had a car. Luckily I need not have one as I am much better off without one here - siva
