The kids' bake sale

We are still having the yard sale trying to raise money for Brownie to have his surgery. Brownie is my mom's dog and he needs an amputation. Yes, most of you will tell me that we should just put him to sleep, but we don't feel like that is an option. He's a part of the family and has been a big part of my mom's life for 3 years. He's a little Shi-Tzu and is just over 3 years old. We made $20 at the sale yesterday and have made about $50 today. An online friend sent $50 to my paypal last night to help out. My daughter put up a gofundme page and about there have been some donations there. I have some more things listed on the local buy sell trade facebook group for sale and we will list more things in lots after the sale is over today. I just listed up 4 boxes which include over 100 books for $10 and a guy is supposed to be on his way to get them. Oh he just came. My daughter has sat up for 2 nights in a row baking things for the kids to sell until after 1 a each night. Unfortunately the bake sale isn't going well. They have sold some of the things. We have been fighting rain. We moved most things to the garage overnight. It rained ALL night and up until about 9 am this morning. Compared to how we usually sell at yard sales though, I think we are doing pretty well. It looks like it's going to bust out raining any second though and my daughter doesn't want to give up and pack things back in to the garage. Well, I apologize for not keeping up with notifications like I should and I will tell you up front that it's going to be Tuesday before I will have (or should have) the time I need to be on the computer! I just snuck in now to get this post done.

The initial bill was close to $400 just for diagnosis and antibiotics and bandaging. The surgery is close to $600. The vet wants to see Brownie every two days or so for new bandages. The vet does not take payments. I live close but my vet, who does take payments, just left on vacation. Anyway, these are the rough amounts that were shared with me. I live about an hour away from Marsha and we have been friends for several years.

I hope you can make enough for the surgery. I agree with you, putting her down is not an option.

We were go-getting on the money raising and need to get back to it! We have well over 1/3 of the surgery money. We think the current bandages will only need to be done one more time. Maybe @GardenGerty 's vet might be back from vacation and able to work with us.

It's a little tough when one is having a garage sale to just pack things up. Sometimes people are out doing other things. Especially when a holiday is coming up. That's a great idea to have a bake sale. Lots of goodies. I hope the next time business picks up. Enjoy the rest of your weekend.

I hope you get enough cash somehow for Brownie's operation. Good luck.

I sure hope you raise enough money for Brownie. He's very lucky to have such a kind family. All pets should be so lucky. Mildred sends her best wishes to Brownie as well.

I pray your sales go well for you. I pray God will help you get the money you need for your precious Brownie. God cares about His animals too for sure.

I have one suggestion for a yard sale. Put some ice in a tub and put soda in to cool. Sell it for whatever you can get for it.
