In Denial

Yes, you read it right. In denial. This is probably the right time to have a good talk to myself. Yes, me, myself and I. You see, I have been battling myself for a few months now whether there is somethings wrong with the computer or it's just my eyes. You may laugh at me now, haha. But this is my reality right now. I am having a reality check, of course, I know it is not the computer but it's my eyes. 5 years ago, the ophthalmologist told me the age of my eyes are two years older than my age. Oh, eyes have age too. Yes, meaning, our usage of our eyes define the age of our eyes except for others who really has problems with their eyes at an early age. The doctor said I should wear a reading glass but since I am not comfortable using it, I disregarded it. Now maybe, I am paying my price. Since my work entails me to be in front of the computer for long hours, I am having a rough time because even I turned the brightness low, still, I feel the light is too much for me. Yes, I am light sensitive too. I am now trying to find a schedule to have a check up again.

There comes a time when we have to admit that we need help. I had perfect eyesight until my late 40s, but now can't read a thing without my glasses. You'll get used to them

Thanks for the words of comfort. It is now sinking in my mind that I really need it for my eyes and that I need help. I sure hope that I will get use to them.

My story is the same as yours @Jabo. @raski, try some magnifier readers and choose a number you are comfortable with.

You should wear eyeglasses or you risk to lower your eyesight even more. I bought my first eyeglasses when I was 45.

yes, I am realizing that now. Actually, I am the last person in my family who does not wear glasses. My 2 sisters have theirs at age 18 to 25. So, lucky me that I will wear mine at 40.

@abhinalstrikr that is very true. Out internal bodies are also abused so I learned by our eating habits and lifestyle. I think we should should take care of our body as whole, outside and inside.

oh yes, I was amazed to know also that our eyes age and so does our other internal organs. It is when we abuse the use of it.

@rakski yeah its unfortunate of us that we donot care for our inner self and look for outer beauty ;like make up and all and our organs revolt beneath but we pay no heed to it

So this time, you should heed the opthalmologist's advice and have your new glasses fitted, otherwise, your eyesight will deteriorate faster.

Oh well, I was not able to have my check up last week because of the rain and the suspension of classes of students. That means I cannot go out because the kids are at home. lol. But I will have it this wednesday morning.

The computer is the biggest culprit in the deterioration of our eyesight. You must really wear your reading glasses or else you will be compromising your eyes to more strain thereby increasing the problem rather than solving it.

I had my eyes checked last May and I got my new pair of glasses. The doctor reminded me to wear it now. I had mine before but I seldom worn it. I also had it multicoated - anti radiation, anti glare... because I also work in front of the computer most of the time.

@rakski some offer it for free and some for 800 pesos. It's a good protection especially if you stay in front of the computer most of the time.

I understand what you are saying. I hated getting glasses when I was young and waited till I could get contact lenses. You are either going to ruin your eyes or give into getting glasses. I am sorry.

Take care of your eyes my dear . Follow what the doctor prescribes . I have been using reading glasses since about 6 years ago . I only use it when i am in my computer or reading , since i am far sighted now . When i watch TV i don't need a reading glass .

My doctor has reminded me to always wear glasses so my vision will not deteriorate that fast. Since I hit 40 years back, my eyes have started to trouble me. Now if I can only remember where I left my glasses.
