Nice to See

The other day I was watching ESPN (a sports channel), and I recognized the guy giving the updates of games. It was Will Reeve, the son of Christopher and Dana Reeve. You may remember Christopher Reeve as Superman back in the 1980s films. And, tragically, he was paralyzed (from the neck down) after a horse riding accident. Christopher eventually died, and four years later, at just 44, Dana died of lung cancer. She was NEVER a smoker. I remember feeling bad for Will, because at the age of 12, he had become an orphan. Fortunately, Christopher had two older children who were in their twenties, and they took him in. Anyway, it just surprised me to see him. He looks like his dad, but more importantly, he looks happy. I like seeing people who have overcome tragedy. I hadn't thought about that family in years, but it was nice to see him successful.

I'm glad Will seemed happy. Some kids have a tough life even those that seem to be born with a silver spoon.

Oh wow! I just looked him up . . . yah, he sure does look like his dad! I feel bad now that I didn't think of "them" in a long time either. It's good to hear he did grow up to be successful! I'm curious now if he sounds like his dad too . . . I'll have to research further on him and his life!

That's a good question, whether he sounds like him or not.

I don't know him, but am glad he overcame the horror of losing both parents. Every time I go horseback riding or see a horse, I think of Christopher.
