I Do Not and Will Not Tolerate Racism!

Today was a bit of rough afternoon for me since I had to fire an employee after hearing and watching him mistreat a haitian worker of mine. I was very aggitated and im glad I didnt lose my cool because I hate seeing people being mistreated especially with racial slurs, I dont like abusive behavior like that and I simply fired him on the spot and apologized to my worker who was being harrassed. I made an announcement to all my other employees, anyone who mistreats anyone with abusive language and any type of racism is fired on the spot and will be reported! I do not and will not tolerate such behavior in my company, we are all equal and here to do our jobs not abuse the less fortunate and discriminate them because of their skin color!

I hate how people mistreat others because of their race, status in life, and gender.

@BACONSTRIPSXXX I think people have forgotten that we are all humans. We should never look at other's race at all because we are all human beings.

Racism is not something I would deal with either-I don't blame you at all. It is wrong and there's no reason for it.

Zero tolerance for racism. What you did was hard, but it was the right thing to do. Kudos to you. I hope everyone in the world will not tolerate discrimination of any kind. That way we'll all have peace.

@BACONSTRIPSXXX That's true. Some people would turn a blind eye, even be joining in, which is really sad.

@moonchild117 I agree, turning a blind eye is just as bad as the one committing the act of racism

Good for you. You did the right thing, as that was totally uncalled for. I love all people no matter their skin color, and when I hear others getting mistreated, I will them that it wasn't right. They wouoldn't want to be treated the same way, as they are treating others, you can count on that. It just does't make sense that this is happehing all the time. People can be so cruel. Now, that you fired him, I hope it will be a lesson for him not to do it ever again.

@BACONSTRIPSXXX I'm usually the one that quietly "reminds" the person who has made the slur that the world would be a better place without that kind of thinking.

@BACONSTRIPSXXX I have to tell you something funny. When I was about 6 years old, (I can remember back then but not yesterday), anyway, my parents both worked and in the summer when school was out I was sent to a day camp with my sister. My last name was "Lewis". One morning roll call was taken and when my name came up, I stood up and so did my sister and another girl that was black. All our last names were the same. I told everyone we were all sisters. No one thought anything about it. That was almost 70 years ago and we didn't have any of the issues we have now. I thought it was the greatest thing that I had 2 sisters in the same class. Who knew then what the world would be like so many years later.

Racism is absolutely disgusting, yet we find people using it as an excuse to abuse others they deem lesser than themselves. You did the right thing, firing the man. Didn't seem like a decent guy who cannot respect a worker in the same establishment.

Racism is something that needs to be "eradicated" and not tolerated. A very wise decision you took. It will serve as a lesson for your other employees so that they will not think of mistreating anyone on any ground whatsoever in future.
