The Neighbors are Cutting Down Trees

I have been preparing a place for my baby bird to practice flying. It is an old dog kennel made of chain link. I am covering it with a smaller wire to keep the baby from flying away too soon. I took him outside in his little cage this morning, and he was loving the sights and sounds of the outdoors. Soon I heard a loud motor idling. I thought, "What is this, a bus or motor home pulling into my neighbor's driveway?" Soon the chain saw noises started up. They had three dead trees on their property that had to come down. I went back inside with my baby bird. That was a chaotic first day outside.

Absolutely. He has to get used to mowers and chain saws, this was pretty extreme though. 100 foot pine trees hitting the ground right next door does not happen every day.

Good you took your baby inside. Not a noise that you would want your baby bird to hear.

It was just hectic. Besides, it didn't seem safe so close to the tree cutting.

The bird needing to see the outdoors and sights. So cute. Hopefully the neighbors are finished cutting the trees down.

Your little bird will be thinking it is a big bad world outside - which mightn't be a bad thing. It might keep him safer when he decides to go out on his own.
