Why Don’t They Also ?

I went back to the hospital yesterday morning , so the doctor can interpret the result of my blood exams I have discussed here earlier .
Once , the assistant made me sign on the referral slip of my health card , I looked around the waiting lounge to see where I can sit .
I saw those two rocking chairs empty from across the lobby , so I sat in one of them . And I rocked the chair and played on my phone while I waited for my name to be called .
From time to time , I would stop and can see some of those in the waiting lounge staring at me . Two looks like elderly already .
I can always give them my seat at the rocking chair , should there be an elderly . But none did . The other one was empty the whole time I was there . Or maybe , they thought I am an elderly already .
Could it be that they didn’t sit there because they want to be nearer the assistants , so when their names are called they can hear it outright . But I can hear the call from where I am .
I enjoyed just rocking the chair and playing on my phone , so when I heard my name called , I was surprised that I have been there for about 2 hours already .
If you were in my place , would you take the rocking chair too while you wait or just simply be seated at one of those conjoined chairs ?

i would love to rock myself, but the tendency would be, i would nod and keep my head move up, down, left and right, with eyes slightly open and with a gaping mouth. hahahaha!

@LadyDuck 4 hours ! Wow , that's too long . But i know you are a bookworm so you used it for that .
I guess , if i were to wait for that long , i will tell the secretary that i will be going to the mall and be back in two hours . She knows more or less , what time i will be called .

I might sit on the rocking chair too but won't rock it if i am going to play with my phone because I will get dizzy if I do.

My first time to see a hospital with rocking chairs. It's relaxing to sit on a rocking chair you will feel more comfortable there.

maybe because their sense of balance or their knees aren't that good anymore so they feel safer sitting where it's stable?

@SIMPLYD i myself avoid the stools and benches when eating or while waiting. i need chairs with backrests so my back and hips won't ache.

@hereandthere So your back aches when you sit on those with no backrests . Maybe you should consult a specialist for it , while it's still at it's early onset ?

Yeah , when a hospital offers that , it would always be what i would choose too .
However , in this hospital priority are the elderly , though , i saw no elderly or probably there was but younger looking , so i just sat in it .
Yes, that one is a no - no for typing .

That's how it is because when i arrived about 9:00 plus , there were already a lot of people waiting . The doctor arrived at about 10:00 and i was called a little over 11:00 .
Good thing , i enjoyed the rocking chair and my game on the phone .

Yes , so maybe that's the reason why some elderly doesn't like it there , since it's across the room and seem isolated from the waiting area .
You can simply relax during those two hours by rocking the chair .

I would sit in the chairs. I think my mother would sit in the rocking chair.

I will also try the rocking chair since it is more comfortable to sit there. It is unusual for clinics/hospitals to have rocking chairs at the waiting area.

That's also another point .
I for one , first read the standee beside it , before finally sitting on it , the Saturday before this day , Wednesday . Hence , i already know it's for sitting , by the elderly as priority .
HOwever , i didn't see any elderly yet so i sat on it .

It depends. If I think that there's no one wanting to use the rocking chair I would probably use it. However, if I sensed that someone might be wanting use the rocking chair no matter how remote, I would give it up and move elsewhere. Anyway, in any case I would not sit at one place for 2 hours!

Actually when i came in those conjoined chairs were already nearly filled , so i went to occupy one of those .
Actually , i stood up and went to the comfort room to pee and stretch , but still those two chairs remained unoccupied when i returned . So , i sat there again .

I would have sat there. I wrote a post a couple days ago about an elderly lady who asked me to move out of an armchair at Starbucks. I told her no. I'm 7 months pregnant, and I hurt all over, and I think I deserved it just as much as she did.

I think if one is pregnant , won't it be risky to rock in that chair ?
In that case of yours , you have the priority than the elderly because you are pregnant . It's a delicate state of a woman .
