To perk up my day!

Driving to the hospital in a rather hot and humid morning because of the sweats beginning to form on my forehead, I wanted to keep myself cool.
My students are first-timers- level 2 nursing students and I don't want them to think that their clinical instructor is a mean and very strict preceptor, with eyebrows crossed and with an angry face.
Although I am strict, I should still be the understanding teacher for them. So when some of them arrived, with 2 still on their way to the hospital, I began to talk to them about punctuality. My morning however, was changed to a very good mood because I received a call from somebody I cherish so much.
The call perked up my day. I became happy, and I did not mind the sweat on my forehead (I can wipe them with my towelette anyway and I have a hand fan to cool myself).
What perks up your day when everything seems to be low and discouraging?

Reading wonderful posts like this from myLotters. I'm glad you had a wonderful phone call to perk up your day. I've been getting some of those phone calls too lately and yes, they do perk up the day and make it far better, no matter what the weather is outside.

I have written an almost similar discussion to this one. An unexpected call from someone we hold dear will always cheer us up no matter what. For me, it's the same and when a mailman drops by with a letter or a package.

i agree with you. this morning too, while i was with my students, a call came from this person, so i excused myself to answer the call. it was just to say "how are you?" and then some talks, then i hung up.
