Underfoot and Underloved

Alongside of the carport and close by the barbecue smoker is a tangle of little plants, little plants with big leaves and bigger plants with smaller leaves. There are flowers in there, too. Blue-purple flowers of one kind and of a size, tiny red flowers of some other kind. Green stems are there, and red stems are hanging around, probably just because they wanted to join the crowd. You never know but what there may be a worm or a snake or a snake and a worm down there under all of this stuff. I wondered, if there is a worm and a snake, when they look up, do they see the same amount of beauty in that tangled mess that I see when I look down. I wonder. There's probably a lesson in this. If there is a lesson, it may be teaching us to see the good in what is around us and to disregard what we might often think of as being a real mess. I guess that the fact is, sometimes it really is a mess that we are seeing - and sometimes it is a sight really worth looking at. Sometimes. * * * * * * * * * * Images source: Gus Kilthau * * * * * * * * * *

I guess it all depends on your point of view doesn't it? Interesting concept - 'one man's meat is another man's poison' sort of thing.

@JudyEv - Ms Judy - Kinda makes me wonder what the view might be from the worm's part of the world.

@Marcyaz - How right you are, I am most happy that I saw those flowers as they sneaked up toward the barbecue smoker. The hamburgers turned out nicely, too.

how about a beautiful mess as beauty is not always tidy and clean but messy and beautiful anyway.I guess its how our perception works really.

The old adage is correct -'Beauty is in the ye of the beholder'. Your photo is lovely.

@jaboUK - Ms Janet - You are correct again. What the beholder holds beautiful is never ugly. As to "my" photo being lovely, it is the flower stuff that is lovely and the photo is the work of the camera and the computer. All I did was to point the thing at the flowers and push the little button. BUT, I will take all the credit for the whole deal; that is, I also thought the image looked pretty nifty.
