What Do You Know About Russell Crowe?

Russell Crowe was born in New Zealand, but now resides in Australia, so I’ve heard. The last I heard was that he and his wife are separated and that they have two sons, who live in New Zealand with their mother.
I was surprised to learn that he was a singer and had released a record years ago, called, “I Just Wanna Be Like Marlon Brando.” I’ve never heard the song, so I think I will try to find it online.
The crazy part is that he went on to play Superman’s father, just like Marlon Brando did. Crowe’s movie was “Man of Steel” which I have not seen. So, I’d like to see it.
His first movie was “Romper Stomper” which I have not seen either. I totally enjoyed him in several other movies however, especially, "Master and Commander." I understand that he is very selective about what he will accept as a movie role and that he can be rather combative when it comes to his career choices.
I also found out that he donates quietly to several local causes in Australia.

Yes, he is a very good actor. I haven't seen all of his movies. I'm going to look on Netflix for some that were mentioned here that I haven't seen.

Oh, I would LOVE to see that series. I wonder if I could get it on Netflix here. I'll have to check. That's a good piece of information. I wrote it down. I love movies or anything about Australia. The movie, "Australia" with Nicole Kidman and Hugh Jackman is one of my favorite movies. I own it and watch it over and over from time to time.

@IreneVincent There have been some good Australian movies made. Many of course exploit our outback scenery but that's okay.

@IreneVincent I don't think I'm seen the series. We didn't have TV for years as we were in an area without reception. There were also a good series about the Flying doctor. The Shiralee was another Australian film that I really enjoyed.

Thank you for sharing these information about Russell Crowe. I did not know he is from New Zealand and now staying in Australia. I always thought he is American. It's a surprise to me that he was a singer too.
I don't know much about him, but I like the movie "A Beautiful Mind" he acted.

Well, I think he is very talented..but is what I would describe as a jerk. He threw a phone at a hotel employee in NYC. Someone I know said that she saw him on a plane...and we was being very demanding..so I guess you would say he is a diva.

Somehow that doesn't surprise me. However, as you said, he is a very talented actor, which does not give him the right to treat others badly.

He won the Oscar for Gladiator and was nominated for The Insider and A Beautiful Mind. His best two performances are A Beautiful Mind and Cinderella Man.

I know he was in Gladiator and 3.10 to Yuma.And have seen him in A beautiful Mind.
