Stress test

Have you ever had to do a stress test? I had to do one a couple of years ago, wasn't fun running on that treadmill, reminded me how out of shape I'm in. My hubby had to do one today, but with his bad back and knees, they didn't have him do the treadmill, instead they injected some medicine in an IV that made his heart react as if he'd just done all that exercise. He didn't do so well, his blood pressure dropped and his heart slowed down, we thought he was going to pass out, they had to call the Dr in to check him, It was a bit scary. He says he doesn't ever want to do that again, I don't blame him. He was totally exhausted after, went home and took a couple hour nap.

You have to wonder about some of the things they make you go through. I would have thought they would have had a doctor there on the spot - but perhaps the doctor was very close by.

Yes, they told us the Dr was in the next room in case we needed him, and he came right over when called.

The treadmill is not for everyone to do especially if they have severe medical problems.
