Furniture Shopping

After 2 years here in Australia I bought my first piece of furniture. But it's still not for my own consumption. It's a cabinet for my friend's upcoming baby. Went to IKEA to buy it as a gift and oh boy I was amazed. I never expected IKEA to be so huge. And it's very fun that you have to shop each part of the furniture by yourself. Back home when we buy a furniture it's already assembled so that was something interesting for me. How about you guys have you gone furniture shopping lately?

I remember the first time I ever visited an IKEA store, I got lost in there! The place was huge! But I didn't mind, as I spent hours browsing every section of the store. When I finally found my way out, I couldn't believe how much time had passed!

Yes, IKEA is a huge store! It gives me a headache usually because it's filled with so much stuff. I went furniture browsing a few days ago!

Did you follow the "path" all the way in there? My first piece of baby furniture was also an IKEA white 3-drawer cabinet that my husband assembled a week before our first born came... nearly 22 years ago!

@sishy7 The show rooms do take up a lot of the store space. But I reckon it attracts more customers as it gives them an idea and some inspiration to start of with.

@flapiz Yeah, I love their 5mx5m showroom that has everything, completely furnished rooms fit in such a small space - bedroom, bathroom, dining room, living room, kitchen, and even a laundry room...

Going through Ikea is great fun isn't it? I'm sure you know you can buy assembled furniture as well - but it probably won't be as cheap.

Ahahaha my friend and I wanted an assembled one but the bloke just told us to find the pieces in the warehouse. Lol. If it's more expensive, I'd rather assemble. I'm stingy that way.

I've shopped in IKEA one time. There's some interesting pieces in that store. That's great that the furniture will already be assembled.

Same here. I was actually expecting them to give us an assembled one but we were just asked to find the pieces lol. But it was a lot of fun looking for them.
