Pokemon GO Is A Problem!

I say it is a problem for many but hear me out first!
I have nothing against the game, in fact im a huge Pokemon fan since I was a child and I have the app on my phone but dont play it much. First of all, many have lost their minds playing this game like that one girl who wandered into traffic and was hit by a car chasing pokemon, many have been robbed of their smartphones while pokemon hunting, and one kid even found a dead body while pokemon hunting.
The reason I say this game is a problem is because this is simply another great Distraction to keep everyone busy while our country falls apart.
We are on the brink of civil unrest/ civil war, Donald trump might just be our next president, meanwhile the rest of the world is too busy catching imaginary pokemon with their faces buried into their smartphones....
Whats your take on this?

I asked such question 5-6 hours ago. And the replies were so damn right. It's not the game fault, it's the people fault for not being aware of their surroundings. You know technology can be very useful, if you know how to use it right.

easy solution, dont be an idiot while playing. if your kid is an idiot, then dont let them play solo.

I think it gets people outside and walking. I also think people need to NOT be dumb about it. walking around with your nose buried in your cell is dumb. you can set the game to make the phone vibrate if there is a pokemon you can catch there, then you step aside out of people's way, catch the sucker, put the phone back down, and move on.
Tired of hearing about people acting like idiots with it. It's not that hard.

@BACONSTRIPSXXX well that's on them, as I said before, dont be dumb. Tons of us play and we never once walked out in front of a car, or off a cliff, or or or, lol

That is probably the only good upside that people get active but end up wandering into traffic when into their phones

My kids liked Pokemon at one time in their lives but thankfully they have no desire to go blundering around playing on a cellphone all day long. At work they have threatened to send anyone home caught playing on work time. That's a first time offense. It hasn't even been released in Canada. People are just creating and using the American system.

@BACONSTRIPSXXX I'm hoping by that time some of the shine has come of it. Those who would go crazy over it already have.

This isn't a game being played in spare time but an obsession. With all the ills in the world, all you can think about is some Pokemon game?

I think it can be disastrous for so many to be engrossed in virtual reality games they aren't paying attention that our country is going awry. As Edmund Burke said "the only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing."

If some people are more bothered about playing games, let them get on with it, then the people who do care can get involved.
There have always been instances of people walking into roads without looking, for example, or getting robbed, because they were reading a book/ listening to their Walkman/ texting on their phone/ and now playing Pokémon. I guess that's just natural selection. Of course I wouldn't feel quite so calm about it if it was my child who got run over but I'm trying to ensure it isn't!
On the plus side, all those people who would have been holed up in their bedrooms playing games for hours a day are now out there getting some exercise which is absolutely brilliant, much better for their health which (in the UK) will save us a load of money because of the cost to the national health service of all those sedentary people!
