I don't like it (Melania's Speech)

United States

I haven't watched the whole thing. I've probably watched just a few minutes of it really. Either way, I don't care who he is as a man. I don't care about all of these promises. DO you not see that having his wife speak is just some underhanded move to "sway" the yet unswayed? I'm sorry, I don't care what anyone says... His whole campaign has been a joke. I don't feel confident with him as the leader of our Nation. I don't care for his wife's smooth words either.

I tried to go in with excitement. It just did not last very long. I spot checked the whole thing. The longest I lasted was about 3 or 4 minutes.

@ScribbledAdNauseum That is how politicians try to make themselves sound like the common person. I notice both sides do it, but it seems the Republican side likes to lay it on real thick. I am also in agreement I really do not care because all these people that end up in this position are so rich that they have no idea of what it is to be a common person. The only one who could probably do it and get away with it is Bernie Sanders and he is out.

@crossbones27 I was surprised he went out to be honest with you. I didn't hear for it myself but a relative told me that apparently trump's wife stole part of her speech.

When I first heard about her giving a speech? I just shook my head. I wanted to hear atleast a few minutes of it, to see what the speech writers wrote for her to say. I don't care how caring he is to his family. None of that really matters. I heard no real reason why we should vote for him.

I noticed early on that his big speaks are meant with so many 'yahs' and applause from the audience Then I noticed, and the news person verified this, that it is his family and friends down in front that are doing most of this. So it looks good to viewers. I would not want someone who insights people to violence in office. Lots of other reasons too.

If one of my family members was running for President I would be on the very front row and hollering the loudest!

@clrumfelt ....Oh, I hear ya and I would be too. In this one instance though it just looked staged and like that was all that was really there.

With Trump I feel as if having his family do that would all be staged. I am not saying they shouldn't be enthusiastic, but I just can't say I trust Trump either way. We definitely need a man who can remain calm and keep his own grudges separate from important decisions. We do not need more war.

She is actually hard for me to listen to, but I think Trump has a lot of potential as a leader.

I did a bit of translating for a family member a few minutes ago. Her accent is thick but I could understand it very well.

When I got to hear her speak last night I found her to be very articulate and graceful. Keep in mind that she and Donald are not politicians and she is going to speak from personal experience.

@clrumfelt Not if she's copied what Michelle Obama said, almost verbatim. IT's come out that it wasn't the speech writer's doing either, that this was added after he submitted the speech to the campaign.

That is what happens at the convention, wives speak, children speak, friends speak, others in the party speak. It gives us all a opportunity to get to know who our first lady will be. You get to choose who you want. You feel confident with putting Hilary as the leader of this nation. Some one that is so stupid and careless about the security of this nation, Someone that went to bed while our boys and Ambassador Stevens were being attacked. Someone that takes millions from the people that were behind some of the attacks on this nation... 911, and Boston....

I agree with your comments. If I was running for office I hope my family would speak up and support me. And Hillary is a dangerous woman. She should go to the Big House, not the White House.

I don't know if it's true, but I saw a headline a few days ago saying that trump says if he wins, he will quit.

Rumors are buzzing around like flies at this point. It's politics so don't believe everything you hear.

I think that might be wishful thinking on behalf of those who oppose him.
