Woke up at 6a. and was in bed by 2a. so didn't get a lot of sleep. But, what's new?! Had napped during the evening earlier too. Went on Walmart.com to buy some vacuum bags. I was going to use what I had accumulated in my Savings Catcher account. I make the transaction, am on checkout and I go to put in my Walmart e-card info and it shows 0 balance. Perplexing since I hadn't used it. Just got it right? So, I called the local store because I didn't have a number for their customer service. A nice gal named Janet helped me by checking the history on the card. She said it was loaded on 12/15/2015 at one location and redeemed at another. Interesting. I checked my receipts in my email(glad I keep all of those)and it showed I had used it on that date, but, also used it later in February. Screwy. Called the customer service # given and they excellerated it to a manager. Now I am showing a reloaded card in my email. Interesting. Glad they got it figured out. I had already bought the bags though cause I wasn't sure how long this would take and we need them. Weird seems to be the word of the day for me. Several have asked me about the fire. It has burned 4500 acres since yesterday afternoon when first told about it on a early breaking news announcement about 3p. About 2500 people were out of power from yesterday afternoon until earlier today. They said that 50% of the fire has been contained. They are concentrating their efforts on applying retardant to the areas opposite the timber line. If it gets past that line it puts the fire at a completely different aspect. It is burning brush and bushes right now but if it gets into the timber it will pick up speed and be much harder to contain. Last I heard it is slowing down so their continued efforts are There is also a fire up in Idaho City which is on up Highway 21 from where this fire is. 500 acres and just North of Idaho City. We had a bad fire up there last year that took some old buildings. I love Idaho City. It's like an old ghost town and an old friend and I had a fun pretend gun fight in the street one night when we were doing a bar stroll. Such fun we used to have. Back in the mid 80's when I was still drinking and living a life to the fullest. Glad that is over. Haha Called maintenance regarding the bugs. They may want to send a professional exterminator. I will hear tomorrow for sure. If they are going to do that it will mean another purge cause they will want all the stuff up and out of the way. Everything out of drawers, etc. Ugh! Then we have to live out of bags basically for the three weeks until the last spraying is done. Heard earlier today that Garry Marshall passed. In his mid 80's I think it said. He produced a lot of fun comedies on tv I think. Sad at his passing. He once said, "It's nice to be important, but more important to be nice. " At The Village in Meridian Matt Damon is appearing at the advance screening of the release of the latest Bourne movie. That should be fun. Red carpet and he will make an appearance. The girls on the news drew straws to see who would get to go cover the story. My thoughts go out to the fire fighters. The heat is to hit three digits tomorrow, low humidity and some wind. Not good. Over 200 firefighters at each fire. They are sending fire retardant to the Idaho City fire now. Have a good one folks.

@celticeagle That's good. Though she might have the opportunity to see Matt Damon, if she's interested that is.

@just4him .....He's long gone now. I guess he was very personable and talked about the movie and Meridian too.

Yeah, those e-cards are nice and I enjoy them. This was a weird happenstance. I went ahead and ordered the bags and then later that day I had a reloaded card in my email. I could have gotten what I purchased for free if the card had worked right to begin with.

Fires for me living in the bush is a worrisome subject. There was a small one that was thankfully contained quickly near here. Gives me added impetus to do the clearing and clean up that I want to get done. Won't save our place from a big fire though. Hope the exterminator takes care of the bug problem. That's never any fun. Only famous person sighting in this area was Ann Murray the singer doing some shopping in Amherst. I didn't see her but one of my co-workers did.

I hope so too. I wish we didn't have to pack up and live out of bags again. It was just a year ago that we did the big purge because of bed bugs. Now this.

I am glad you got the card straightened out, with Walmart it's hard sometimes to get them to side with you
