Okay, it's been a couple days since I posted this, so I'm going to make the most of it by posting the highlights for July 20 and 21. July 20 1402 - Tamerlane's Mongols defeated Ottoman Turks at Angora 1588 - Spanish Armada sets sail from Corunna 1715 - The Riot Act goes into effect in England 1864 - Confederate General John Bell Hood attacked General Sherman outside Atlanta 1867 - Imperial troops in Guizhou, China kill 20,000 Maio rebels 1881 - Sioux Chief Sitting Bull surrendered to the US Army 1917 - Alexander Kerensky becomes premier of Russia 1942 - The first class of WAAC's start training at Fort Des Moines, Iowa - The women are in the Army now. 1944 - Adolf Hitler wounded in an assassination attempt by German Army officers at Rastenburg. 1951 - King Abdullah of Jordan, assassinated 1969 - Neil Armstrong sets foot on the moon. That's One small step for man, one giant leap for mankind. 1976 - Viking spacecraft lands on Mars and starts taking soil samples. July 21 1403 - Henry IV defeats Percy's in Battle of Shrewsbury in England 1667 - Peace of Breda ends Second Anglo/Dutch War and cedes Dutch New Amsterdam to the English 1711 - Russia and Turkey sign Treaty of Pruth, ending Russo/Turkish War 1718 - Treaty of Passarowitz signed by Austria, Venice and Ottoman Empire 1773 - Pope Clement XIV abolishes Jesuit Order 1798 - Napoleon Bonaparte defeats Arab Mameluke Warriors at Battle of the Pyramids 1861 - First battle of the Civil War at Bull Run, though the Confederates call it Manassas because it took place at Manassas Junction, Virginia 1919 - British House of Lords ratifies Versailles Treaty 1925 - John Scopes found guilty of teaching evolution in Dayton, Tennessee and fined $100 1941 - France accepts Japan's demand for military control of Indochina Such are the highlights of history. @Jessicalynnt I can see that as well, so we need to put together a good script along with some better than average actors and actresses, and get it into the academy awards. What do you think?

Today is already the 22nd of July at my location, a very sad day in history: In 1942 Warsaw Ghetto Jews (300,000) were sent to Treblinka Extermination Camp. Most of them will never come back.
