Another HOT Day Is Forecast For Today

United States

Every day this week has been VERY hot and humid here in Virginia and other states on the east coast. I have been staying in the house with the A/C on and ceiling fans turning in every room. I think that this has been the hottest week we have had so far this summer, but I think that it could get worse. And this hot weather has brought on several bad storms. Trees down everywhere and power outages too. Extremes in the weather seem to be more and more common. I really don’t ever remember the weather being so hot in the summer or cold and snowy in the winter. Nor, do I remember so many floods and forest fires and earthquakes. Every day it seems as if there is some weather related BAD news. Some people say that it’s just because we have better news coverage, that we hear about all these things, but I disagree. The news might have been slower reaching us than it is now, but we eventually would hear about such things. What do you think? Picture by Pixabay

The weather is mostly controlled by the jet stream and the jet stream has been affected by human activity.

The storms here in Virginia this past month have been really bad. Mostly trees coming down on houses, garages, and vehicles and power outages.

I think that the earthquakes in my part of the country are due to fracking and due to the fact that Oklahoma receives all the water that is waste water from that process. They share the earthquakes with us in Kansas. I do remember snow as late as May in Oklahoma. I do agree it has been hot this week. It also was very hot here the second week in June. We were on vacation, but my sister stayed in my house and coold not keep cool enough. We have a very slight cooling trend for the upcoming week and the forecast is lots of rain possibilities.

Yes, I have written a couple articles here on myLot about fracking. I have a friend who lives in OK and he realizes what it going on there very well. It is really HOT here again today. I have just been staying inside. I moved my car into a shaded area in the driveway this afternoon.

It's hot here in the LA area and there have been wildfires. Not big ones but everything is a dry tinderbox.

The heat is almost unbearable. Someone said that the average daily temperature in Ethiopia was 105 F. I can't imagine that. Do you suppose that is true?
