tired, or simply bored?

I think I fell asleep in the cinema today. I say think because if I did it could only have been for a nanosecond and yet I distinctly remember dreaming. Dreaming is weird. Or is it the mind that's weird? So much detail and occurrences can be jam-packed into what amounts to barely seconds of sleep. Time is such a mystery. We were watching Star Trek, the new one. I was never a big fan of the programme, although I seem to have spent a fair amount of my childhood watching it on the tellybox, usually at tea-time, plates haphazardly placed on laps whilst aliens made love to Jim on screen. The most recent film struck me as being a tad wooden, in terms of both script-writing {sorry, Simon Pegg} and acting {sorry, Anton Yelchin, may you rest in peace}. At one point one of the characters picked up a rock that was obviously not a rock and was presumably a nod in the direction of the 1960s prop department. And just like that, the film was spoilt for me. So, then I fell asleep. I've never done that before. Husband has, and I was once enjoying Harry Potter despite the snoring of a chap a couple of rows behind, but even when I saw The Producers {an absolute yawn-fest} I didn't sneak off to Nod. Was I inexplicably tired, or just bored? Perhaps we could do an experiment ... you all toddle off to the cinema and see if you fall asleep whilst watching it. Because, you know ... if I had to sit through it I think everyone else should have to as well. *smile*

I never go to the cinema as people get all pee'd off when you need to go for a pee. I watch stuff at home via computer now

I don't get pee'd off with people needing a pee, but I do get pee'd off with mobile phone usage and talking. And eating nachos. *crunch*

@Mike197602 You can go alone! We tend to buy food and drink in Tesco beforehand if we desire it. But also, because we have Unlimited cards we get 25% off food and drink, which we can use on it if need be,

Even if you were a cinema loving Star Trek science fiction fan I'd say don't bother!

You would have to be stone deaf to fall asleep in the theater where I saw this film. And even then it would be something of a challenge since the sound was loud enough to rattle the seats. I had the hiccups when we went in and was worried about disturbing other people. Suffice to say, I could have made a host of other rude noise, including singing "Bohemian Rhapsody" (it's a rude noise when I try to sing it) and no one outside of possibly my husband would have noticed. Yes, I saw the rock.

@poppylicious I always sit in the front row, smack in the middle so that I feel that I'm actually in the film though I'm never mentioned in the credits for some reason. Sitting there keeps me awake no matter how dreary the film might be.

But don't you have to practically look up and thus get a sore neck?!
