Respect Your Elders

I am so proud to say I get to throw this back in everyones face. My world wants to pick and choose. So I will also. My elders teach me things. Getting harder as I am on 40 now. That does not matter. I made 40. I do not care about age. I do care about living this long. Sometimes. not always the case. You feel like the world can wipe you out at any time. So when your elders say this. You better respect it. My elders teach me well and show me everything that needs to be shown.

@crossbones27,I agree with each and every word you have said here.No matter we are 4 or 40,our parents are our parents, our elders who are our well wishers.Obeying them is our sacred duty.

I totally agree but only if they teach you well. So many do not teach well.

Getting to the point where I'm losing friends and peers at a regular rate. Still have a dad alive to respect. I'm not far from being one of the 'elders' myself.

To have differences in thinking is natural. There is difference in social thinking and academic thinking. That does not make elder any less respectful especially because he or she has been there with us through thick and thin, and put up with a lot of our nonsense and spared his or her earnings for us, somethings we find difficult to do for others.

@crossbones27 ... I do...I have hell tolerating dirty house, some odd beliefs...it can be a real groan period between an 83 year young man and 57 year old woman. But we manage...and its surprisingly amicable even with our differences.

As much partying as I've done in my past, I'm often surprised I've made it this far.
