Road Construction

I am not fond of having to sit for a long period of time while road construction is being done but I started making a game out of it. Now how does one make waiting for road construction a game? I now watch the expressions on peoples faces as they slowly drive by. It is quite comical some of the expressions I see.
One time I had my window down and this guy was hollering at the car in front of him. The person in the other car couldn't go any faster because there were vehicles in front of him.
This takes away concentrating on how long I have to sit and wait plus it gives me quite a few chuckles.
How do you spend your time waiting on road construction?

Road construction is constant around here. Keeping the roads free of pot holes is an ongoing job. They never get it done. The roads are badly damaged by heavy trucks and freezing weather in the winter, so the summer months are used to FIX the roads.

@IreneVincent That is the way it is here. I am glad that they take the time to do the repairs.

@velvet53 that's no fun! Here they usually put signs and block the freeways during like1am to 3am times when most aren't on the road

@infatuatedbby Now that is a good way to do it. I have seen that too but they are trying to get this project done as soon as possible so they keep at it.

@crazyhorseladycx They have those big cement barriers on both sides in this one area and my son came through there yesterday and was surprised at how narrow it was. They would have a hard time getting an emergency vehicle in there if there were to be an accident.

We just recently experienced a lot of road construction on Interstate 85 going down to North Carolina. So, my son and I played TRIVIA. I know a lot of trivia and I just happened to have my DATEBOOK with me, in which I keep track to trivia when I find it. So, we were able to pass the time.
Road construction is always a problem in the summer months since that's when the road is repaired from the winter damage. We simply expect it, so we have to add extra time to any trip we plan to take.

That is a good way to spend your time waiting. They are doing a pretty big project on the highway by where I live but I found ways to get around without having to deal with the construction all the time. I know there are times when that isn't an option for some, especially if you are on a super busy highway.
