My husband and I have been talking for the last couple years about taking a train trip through Alaska. Right now I would love to be there. We have been pricing it to see if we can save the money. We would have to pay for airfare from Florida to Washington state. Then there's the cost of the actual train trip. The train trip will cost just over $3,000 each. It would cover the train ride, food and overnight stays in different little towns. I think if we do save the money for this we would probably want to go during the summer. That way we miss some of the hot days here.

That would be a very interesting trip. I take it then they have extended their train service as the last time I looked at it it was only from Seward to Anchorage. I'll have to look at that myself as I want to see Alaska very much. Right now I'm hoping to book a cruise tour that includes many of the different cities and Denali National Park.

@HazySue I looked at the train tour, and the cruise tours offer more than what the train tour does.

@just4him I think I will have to look at the cruise tours. I may end up on a cruise instead.

I always have a good impression to Alaska because it is all new for me. And I like a cold and snow place. The cost for a train trip to Alaska is very expensive. In fact I didn't know that there was a train there before. It must be quite an exciting and interesting trip.

Now that sounds like a wonderful trip! I have heard great things about Alaskan cruises but never about a train trip through Alaska. And that sounds just as wonderful to me!

@marlina I would think so. I wonder how warm it gets there? I don't want to trade hot down here for hot up there.

That sounds amazing In the UK I've only been on a train once when I was a kid and we went to London for a while. The train broke down and we had to walk to another train in the middle of nowhere then that one broke too and we had to go on a bus they got to collect us That put me off train travel. I've been on trains in france and other places and they were way better. My dad went on a trip across Canada by train a couple of years ago and he really liked it.

That sounds like an exciting trip. It is costly but if you really want to do it, you can make it happen! It may take time, but you can save the money if you really want to go.
