Does God Have A Name?

Christians and people of other faiths, can find the name of God in the King James Version of the Bible at Psalms 83:18 and at Exodus 6:3 and also in the book of Isaiah. The King James Bible that I have, has a glossary in the back. Under the name “Jehovah” it says: (ji-ho-va) “a name given to God in the Old Testament: it is a medieval and modern transliteration of what was an attempt to vocalize the ancient Hebrew sacred name for God: the name was written with four consonants, JHVH or JHWH.” These four consonants in Hebrew were written in the Bible over 7000 times and yet some modern Bible translators have removed the sacred name of God from some translations. Other translators are actually restoring the sacred name to their translations. Not being able to know the pronunciation in Hebrew, the name was translated into many different languages. In English, it is most often pronounced Jehovah or Yahweh. Interestingly enough, it is pronounced “Yehauvas” in the Hmong language, “Yehuwa” in Indonesian, “Jaoba_ in the Nuer language, “Gie-ho-va” in Vietnamese, “Jehowa” in Polish, “UYehova” in the Xhosa language, “Jehofa” in the Yoruba language and “uJehova” in Zulu. But, it is also pronounced in different ways, in many other languages and it is also written in the Bibles of those languages, so it is very clear that God has a personal name. There is an interesting video about God’s name that you might be interested in viewing. I think you might enjoy watching it.
God has many titles, including Almighty, Creator, and Lord. This video highlights God’s personal name used over 7,000 times in the Bible.

@Corbin5 Joshua is a beautiful Biblical name. There is a book of the Bible named Joshua. If you have never read that book, you might really enjoy the story about Joshua, especially if your son's name is Joshua. You will find God's name however at Psalms 83:18 and Exodus 6:3

Its really amazing how we as humans can give inanimate things like ships, cars, toys (Tickle Me Elmo), gods of other religions and cultures, our pets, our children, etc. names, yet many find it so difficult to accept or acknowledge that the greatest personage of the universe, our Creator and God has a name, Jehovah (Psalms 83:18).

And that name is unique to God. No one else has that name.
