Big Changes Coming At Work

First off let me say I try to get on here when I can but my schedule has been tight. I'm on vacation in a couple of weeks so maybe I can do more posting and responding then. I found out the part of the hotel I work in (they are two separate buildings) is being torn down and replaced with a restaurant. On October 15th they will shut it down to begin demolition. Not sure if they are going to leave part of the building or tear it all down. The building is old and has many issues with plumbing, electrical and HVac (air conditioning). The condenser (they call it the "chiller") is going out too. Guess I can't blame them for not wanting to renovate because so much needs to be done. What will happen to the staff? We'll all be moving over to the other hotel and I'm afraid the work schedules will be lighter unless some of the housekeepers decide to either transfer to other of the hotels or move on to a different job. I don't have that option so I'll be staying.

I think the management will ask everyone to clear their leave entitlement since the workload will be lighter. With the demolition and building work going on, there will be more cleaning to do since the demolition will make the whole place dusty.

That's possible and there will be work to do at the building before they tear it down.

@irishidid There will be more work to do after they tear it down. Imagine all the noise and dust from the demolition work.

There will be things to do at the hotel they are tearing down for awhile. Clean up, removing supplies, etc.

I'm thinking if hours are less I might get a part-time job in walking distance from my home if possible. I could do maybe three days hotel and two days the other job. If I can find another one that is!
