Visiting Bennington Vermont

While visiting my sister for camping I visit a sister in law in Vermont. This year she phoned to say their well was dry (terrible drought) so we needed to make it a meet and greet instead of a sleepover. She was using her daughter's home to shower in...
We met at The Bennington Museum and had made plans to visit Park-McCullough House built in the mid 1800's. Leaving one car at the museum.
We decided since its been a long time since we had been inside the Bennington Museum, we might as well check it out since we were there on the property. We spend hours in that museum and loved every minute of it. Their Grandma Moses display is fabulous.
After the Museum we headed to Park-McCullough and couldn't find it. By the time we did it was close to 2PM when they close so we decided to put that on the list for next year.
Instead we stopped at Bennington Pottery. The woman behind the desk offered to take us on a private tour. We had the best-ever tour, saw everything, met the employs and watched them work and got to chat with them.
We loved the tour and then looked through the shop where you can buy almost anything, and pottery. Very interesting shop.
Our next stop was the the ice cream store where we sat at a picnic table and enjoyed something cold and tasty.
If you ever get to Bennington. Both the pottery and the museum is worth a visit...

We are in a drought here in Canada too, The wineries are watering their hundreds of thousands acres of grapes trying to save the crops. Jan's (my SIL) well is fed by a spring. They have never had a problem ever until this year. If the springs aren't springing, you know mother nature is in trouble.
Loved my time in Vermont with my SIL, we always have a good time together and catch up on family news.

That sounds like an interesting day visiting both the museum and the pottery. I used to visit a pottery regularly as a child, as my father purchased goods for his fine art shop. They used to let me have a go on the wheel and I made some odd shaped pots!

That is wonderful that you got to use the potters wheel. I used a few during my art education but I will admit I have no talent for clay...
