you need not spend additional amount to bring lustre to your old furniture. You need not engage a worker even to get them polished. Here is a technique. Take 2 parts of Olive oil and add 1 part of Lemon juice in a spray bottle. Mix it well and then spray it on the old furniture. Leave it for a minute. Afterwards, take a paper towel and nicely wipe it off. Your furniture will shine like new one. When I was about to dispose of my old furniture and about to order a new one for my house which is under construction, one of my friends who visited the house gave me this idea. I really could not believe it. Actually, I use olive oil very rarely. When he advised me about it, I just spent some 150 and bought a small olive oil bottle for this purpose and tried. Yes...it worked well. I thanked my freind.

I'm going to use this trick sometime. I have done wood refinishing with nothing but sandpaper, steel wool, and linseed oil before.

steel wool. It damages wood. There will be scratches on the wood if you use it. use a fine sand paper.

@shivamani10, congratulations! I use olive oil for oil pulling only. I'll tell my parents to use oil to make our furnitures look new again.

Thank you for the idea. Maybe the lemon put in with the oil would stop my fur crew from licking the furniture.
