Chips At It Again!

United States
August 3, 2016 3:19pm CST
We were sitting outside drinking our coffee just enjoying the beautiful weather. Watching the doves underneath the bird feeders when all of a sudden out of the blue comes Chip! He chased those doves away from the food. He ran back and forth back and forth every time they tried to come get food he was there chasing them. Like this is his domain. He makes us crack up as he is so little and that bird could put a hurting on him in a heartbeat lol. But we think Chip is full of himself and thinks hes Goliath lol Thank you Lord for the laughter and entertainment this little guy gives us.

Sparrows can be bullies, I have seen them many time chasing the doves and even the magpies, that are at least 20 times bigger than them.

@LadyDuck Yes blue jays can be very mean, but they are so very pretty. We also have some song birds around our cottage. They sing so beautifully. I'm so glad I can open up our sliding glass doors and listen to them as I am right now. It's a small piece of heaven I believe!

Blue Jays I understand can also be mean. It's fun to watch the interaction between animals and birds. They bring joy into our lives for sure.

He thinks it is his yard and does not want any birds in it.

@jstory07 Yes I agree he's very territorial. It just so funny as he walks in the grass you can barely see him its when he jumps and hops you catch a glimpse and hops towards those poor doves and chases them away. They are such a peacful bird I don't think they'll fight back I think they just put up with him lol

Pets can really be endearing and enjoyable . And Chips has shown to his masters how he can guard things that his master owns .

@SIMPLYD Yes pets can definately be a blessing. Thats why God made them for us as He knew they would be a companion and friend to us and bring us much joy. We lost our cat about a year or so ago, his name was Star and we had him for 17 years. I can't tell you how much we miss him. He had one of the greatest personalities. Do you have a pet?

So Chip must be a puppy?.. Yes it's fun watching dogs chase birds .. But I always tell off our big dog when he chases birds so he knows that birds are allowed in the garden ..

@epiffanie O thats so funny you thought Chip was a dog, well I guess I would have too if I didn't indicate Chip is a chipmunk lol. He is a funny little fellow and his family. He has a girlfriend and a baby, well he's not so much a baby anymore as he's grown over the summer. But they all run around all day around our property. Looking out the sliding glass door and your sure to see atleast one of them!

@epiffanie No Chip is a chipmunk lol. He is full of it for sure. He keeps us entertained on a daily basis. He's so cute and fast. He also can be a nuisance in our flower beds but my husband likes him too much to do anything about it. lol

@DesirousDreamer O he is a little rascal and so is his girlfriend, Chipette and son, Chip Jr. They run all over the property. When ever I decide to look out the sliding glass window I see one or more of them running around. Popping their heads up out of the grass. They hide well in the grass as their so tiny. I so enjoy them. Praise God for His creatures. Do you know Jesus?

@DesirousDreamer I have a personal relationship with Jesus, It's not about religion its about a personal relationship with Him. He gave His life so that we could live in heaven for eternity as He paid for our sins. He is the only door to heaven there is no other way

@Butchcass4 They sound super adorable. I know of Jesus but I am sorry I am not Christian. I respect the religion, and study it for many years, but it was not for me. I am polytheistic.

@just4him Yes he seems to have a lot of fun chasing the doves and squirrels away from the bird seed that falls from the bird feeders. They are really making a mess out of the yard where the bird seed falls. This is the first year we've done this. We get a lot of joy watching the birds and chipmunks. we used to have rabbits, ground hogs, and more squirrels but my husband has been shooting them because they got into his flower beds and were eating his flowers. I am sad that he killed them all but I have no control over what he does. He has to answer to God for killing His creatures. We live in the woods and so do they or should I say so they did, now they are in heaven

@just4him Yes it is. I love wildlife and I know they are precious to God and I don't think God is very happy with my husband over this! I love him but I completely disagree with him on this!

@JESSY3236 You could be on to something there. He chases the doves away sometimes. It's so funny as you can barely see him unless he sits up on his back feet or he's jumping. lol
