Suddendeath poetry Challenge: Reflect!

Welcome to this weekend’s Suddendeath poetry challenge, Reflect! Anyways, rules are as follows, write a poem in any style using the five words that I give you. Write it in one sitting or in under an hour (only to quash your inner editor, rules are loose there). Add it here, OR link in a comment so we can enjoy each other’s poems. The words can be in any plurality or tense. Today’s words are: mirror, reflect, display, reveal, betray My entry is below: Pass by a mirror and turn away, Don’t want to see what it has to say. Reflections of truth to sad to bear Displaying more than a day with bad hair. Revealing it is of all that is bad Of feelings and moods depressingly sad. Betraying one more truth than one wants to see Is that all there is for a body to be Glaring reflections from mirrors to our eyes Does it tell the truth or does it tell lies? The truth is actually there but tempted by vision Even that filtering isn’t a conscious decision. Rose colored glasses we all are wearing Echoes of what shaped us is staring Back at us when we dare to look in the mirror Knowledge made all the dearer.

Here is my silly entry: Where is the mirror hidden? I see a reflection on the corner section of the wall. You should display your painting of blue jays. Do not be shy, reveal your inner soul and be sure not to betray on a Saturday.

@Jessicalynnt It is true that using the bold code it's a bit annoying here.

Mirror, Mirror on the wall I don't like you much at all! The bulges as I look reveal That I have had too large a meal! As you reflect, must you betray My misdeeds in your clear display?

Awesome job on this poem. You're right - I do not like looking in the mirror. Especially with the stress mess all over my face. It should be going away soon. I'll have no stress with living alone.
