The Great Pub Crawl of '86

Back in 1986 I was single and living with my teenage daughter in a brownstone apartment building in the north end here in Boise. I wasn't working and was living off the AT&T ....... I had accumulating while working there. I would buy some with each pay check. I was able to live an entire summer on what I had accumulated in about five years or so.
A man moved into a little duplex that was on the corner of the block near the alley. He and I became fast friends. (So many memories of that summer and hanging out with him.) One in particular was when he and I decided to do a pub crawl on our way up to Idaho City one week end. There are probably about six or seven pubs on the highway 21.
Our plan was to have a mixed drink at each one, rate the ambiance, the drink, the service and such as that. We had more fun. It was a good time. Then after our pub crawl and arriving in Idaho City we decided to do a mock gun fight. We stepped out into street with our backs against one another and did our ten paces. Turned and fired our pretend guns. He fell to the ground and did a great death scene right there on the street. People watching us. There are actual actors who do just such a thing there sometimes on holidays and such. He could have gotten a job with them. He was that good.
That was a fun summer. He and I were great friends until he wanted more and I realized I wasn't attracted to him and didn't have the same feelings that he did. Sad to end a friendship that way but things happen, or don't.

What an adventure that was. You are right, things happen, or they don't.

Oh, too bad you didn't stay friends. I don't think I was attracted to any of my husband's. I wanted to be married and when one asked me, I married him within a year or two. I guess I grew to love them. I wish I could have been attracted to men, but I wasn't. I thought something must be wrong with me.

Same here. I first married to get out of the house, then to learn about life and then for adventure. Married for different reasons but didn't love any of them.

@bunnybon7 .....I wish she had more self esteem and could get away from him. I think she would be happier in the long run.

I know! right? if you have "more" with a very good friend, one of 2 things can happen. you either end up not friends or anything any more like 2 of my friends and I. or you end up finding friends first was the best thing in your life and you have a soul mate, like myself and John my late last hubby.

It's hard being friends with men for just that reason. Sometimes it turns out okay but usually only if they are gay. Haha

He moved to Oregon to be near his daughter who was going to college there. I went on to help my daughter raise her son.

Oh, I couldn't do that. I was riding a ten speed once, hadn't been drinking, and ran into a car. Bike and drinking wouldn't go over well for me.
