My body clock works perfectly I am awake exactly on the dot of five or even a few minutes earlier than 5 a.m. I am perfectly tuned to waking up early in the morning without much assistance even on weekends. I have a personal friend who helps me if I did rarel over sleep. He is the White cheeked barbet who makes a ktroo ktroo noise at 5 a.m sometimes a little before that. He sits on a tree next door and starts his morning call.. his friend answers him from another tree far away. Sometimes many of his other male friends join in. They do it all morning until I have my breakfast and then they disappear. They are back in the evenings to exchange messages.. it could happen anytime between three and five PM. I expect to see/hear him everyday.. my day is made with his cheerful calls to his friends. Do you have a personal alarm clock like this where you live?

My inner clock usually does me well, but I do have a clock radio I set just in case. I don't have any birds waking me in the morning. That would be a delightful way to wake up.

I don't have a personal alarm clock like that but I don't need one either really. If I have to be up at a certain time my body just wakes up.

Wow so cute! I have only but little sparrows around and they are so noisy each morning but I wake up earlier than they do. I've been used to waking up as early as 5 am unless I spent a late night. So my body clock wakes me up each day to get me up and start my day.

@sofssu Sparrows can be seen around my garden, sometimes they form a very long line while resting on my fence but they fly away as soon as they sense me coming.

@salonga Its the same here .. I wake up before 5 and I don't need an alarm clock to help me. I would love to see sparrows here.. they are not to be seen anymore.

@salonga How I wish I could see that scene, that is how it used to be before all these mobile towers came here in our area.

I almost always go to bed early, so I'm up early as well. I think if I did sleep very long, my birds would be chirping under their cage covers. Also, my mother would be worried and probably would come to check on me. Where do you live? We don't have very colorful birds here, except for my pet birds. That's a pretty one you posted. Did you take that picture? Pretty!

what a beautiful lil bird! don't reckon i've e'er seen one'n person?? i've a family 'f sparrows who're currently residin' 'n various parts 'f the hubs still unfinished front'f the house remodelin' project...which he started last october with great zealousness 'n then quit. needless to say, i'm awakened by their rustlin' throughout the night 'n 't the first glimpse 'f dawns early light, those wee ones 're screamin' fer their breakfast, lol. i reckon ya could call that my 'personal alarm clock'?

@crazyhorseladycx sounds like you have one too many.. I miss the sparrows here.. they have left our city.. we hardly see any around. I read somewhere that the mobile towers that have sprouted up in large numbers ( just in my lane alone we have two) are responsible for their extinction.

@crazyhorseladycx Yeah it seems we do our best to drive away all other creatures.. we are never so happy to share our space with them, which is equally theirs too. What kind of flowers do the tanagers like?

@sofssu there's tons 'f those sparrows here. sadly i've not seen much'f the tanagers, though they stop by from time to time to dine 'pon the hummers feeders...who've also been a tad scarce. the drought keepin' 'em 'way i reckon. can't waste the water to keep their favorite flowers bloomin'...'n then there's those pesky grasshoppers who're eatin' the ones that do put off blooms despite 't. that's awful that mankinds whims've yet 'gain done such . i don't reckon we, 's a race, 're e'er gonna learn??

I saw a white pigeon today...completely white ...long time since I saw one. Felt very happy about it. :) I am also blessed or cursed with that alarm clock wakes me at about 6.15 am. But the problem is if I get up and start tinkering, dad will get up too...and I would rather he take proper rest. So it is lazing time till about 7 am.

@vandana7 A dove or a pigeon? I love watching those snow white doves.. the fill me with peace. Hmmm.. I love to be up and about in the mornings. I love watching the sunrise , hearing the birds sings and look at the plants in my little garden. Do you pray while you laze around in bed? or do you have a cat nap?

Wow, that's pretty early in the morning. You are doing fine. I just had discussion about waking up early in the morning, and I found yours. About me, yes I have personal alarm here, but electronic one. I have also my fitness belt which usually vibrate in the morning but sometime I don't feel it at all.

That is so nice indeed that you have that bird as your personal clock . Actually , i always hear the birds by the trees on the vacant lots next to our house very early , like perhaps 4:00 a.m. But i would still go to sleep and be awakened by my phone's alarm at about 5:20 a.m.

I love that! I do have an osprey who sings me awake every morning when we winter in Florida. Here, it's the cat!

@DianneN Do osprey's sing? Here similar birds of prey squawk. I need to look up a you tube video to check his out for myself. Does your cat meow or scratch you awake?

@sofssu They sing. I hope you can listen to them, even online. It's beautiful! Doodles usually waits patiently for us to wake up, but if we sleep late, he walks on us or meows. He is quite talkative for a cat. Lol!

While I do hear some birds through my window, I don't have any clue what they are, nor are the they same ones each and every day. I set the alarm on my dumb phone. I work late at night and am usually up until 1am or so, so I won't get up when I awaken to use the restroom early in the morning as I usually will. I make myself get a bit more sleep when possible to make up for the days when I'm missing sleep from working midnight shifts.
