Just wondering????

After the three days since I have been here...I have noticed that those who get the most responses, and interactions to their posts, are those who just ask frivolous, and off-the-wall questions...
Any quality content...does not seem to appeal to very many folks. Yeah... They get some reaction, but not like the posts that seem to ask stuff like: "Does an ant get a headache?" Stuff like that... Which if someone knows the answer to this question, can go ahead and answer it... LOL
Anyway... Is this the best approach to being successful here? Just curious...

This is a discussion site, so for the most part "intellectual" posts do not go over well. Some people have done studies that say putting the term "myLot" in a title helps and anything that talks about money gets more response. People are here to earn and what is extra money for me is possibly the difference between having food or not for others. A lot of people from other countries come here to get exposure to more English, but may not have the language to answer very well. Some of these silly and off the wall people have been nourishing relationships here steadily for years. Also, for me, I get more interaction if I do not post lots of posts close together. I try to take time to tend my discussions. Yep. I am off the wall talking about teleporting, but it is a fun thought. That item I wanted to share with someone far away would have gotten there a lot faster if I had not had to deal with Amazon.

I don't know. I've seen everything here from Biblical discussions to art to the ant headache type thing, lol. It seems like the people with the most success are really the people with th emost interaction. No matter what you post about, if you don't pay attention to other people it's not going to work. Mostly I'm remembering from years past, because I have only been back a few days. Everybody has a different concept of what quality is.

Sometimes people get serious here. Sometimes people end up in personal conflicts here and that is definitely not what is desirable.I responded to a discussion that seemed to be insulting, on purpose. My conclusion was that in part the person was collecting interactions. The poster acted like they did not understand anyone with a different point of view and thought we were ganging up. I bet it earned a lot, if it did not go so far that it got deleted. Serious writing goes on Hub Pages, and Textbroker, and possibly, from what someone said, Blogbourne. I have not looked at it.

The people who do best here are the ones who have cultivated their friendships here over time. If you respond to the people who comment on your posts and read and comment on their posts in time you will do just fine.

Interaction is the key here - I get plenty of responses because I'm interested in other people and show it by my responses and comments on their posts. I don't post too often myself, and yes I can be frivolous, but I also put some serious stuff up too. I'm not guilty of off-the-wall questions or 'what I had for breakfast' type posts.

@teresatrotter Yes, we earn whenever anyone reacts to us, whether it is a like, response or comment. So you will be earning from me replying to you here, but I earned from your comment to me(above).
We earn nothing from posting, per se, only when people respond to it. So if we write a post and it gets zero traffic, we get zero earnings.
And yes, I earn when I don't post because I'm flitting about all over the site, eliciting reactions from others to my remarks, and those people may also come and look at my posts, even if they are a few days old.
I have to say though, that I do earn more on the days when I actually post.

So... I have heard various version, and even read the rules of myLot. Though it says we get paid for any activity, some here say that this is no longer the case. We only get paid for what we do with our posts, but if we help someone else out, they benefit, but not us. Do you find that you earn anything, even if you don't post?

I wouldnt wish a headache on an ant, maybe a wasp. hehehe. And honestly, I have found people need a hook, so asking a question is a good idea. Sometimes I ask silly ones, sometimes I ask real ones.

Then this site may not be for me, or I will be like Sabrina...and be considered the boring one. I like to write and share quality work. So now that I know how some feel...I will just find the ones who think like me. I appreciate your response.

I write articles online. They are quality and I have been paid for them. I tried that approach when I first got here. They did not go over well so I learned to write interesting stuff on this forum.

@teresatrotter I know this is not a one line post. But I saw so far two that you did like that. Either way, I think a post that engages the reader. Or gets people to respond. I like a post with meat to it.

This really is not a one-liner post. It has two and 1/2 paragraphs. An English teacher would say that this is a short conversation. I guess people look at things differently.
