Springtime is nearing. I want to do some planting.

Hello, dear lotters. The sun is coming out every morning and now, every day, I make my mug of coffee and go to my covered terrace to drink it in a wonderful artificial climate. I had forgotten for some year to have the terrace covered with an inexpensive plastic. And that makes the difference between winter and an almost tropical spring Although it is not freezing anymore, the soil is still cold and I can only plant hardy veggies. But I am thinking abnout putting some seeds in containers and having the containers inside the terrace. It will be almost as being in a hothouse. What do you do as plants go, in this moment of the year?

It is funny. For you, springtime is coming. For us...it is fall.

@marguicha Potatoes, onions, cabbage. We've been eating lettuce from the garden for awhile already.

I am looking forward to fall here. I dug some potatoes last week and have a few more to dig. I've been using onions from the garden. Summer squash is growing like crazy, winter squash is developing. Tomatoes were not good this year. I don't think the beans are going to make it. I planted very late, but not many, just in case, so I wouldn't waste the seed.

@marguicha There may be. I know that some things that have grown very well here suddenly quit doing so well even with soil amendments and compost added. Gardening success can still be a mystery sometimes!

I have had some problems these last few years with the zuchinni. Before that, they grew wild. Maybe there´s some nutrient lacking

That is a really cool idea. I wish I had somewhere I could grow things year round here.

Some people manage to grow herbs on containers near a sunny window.

That sounds like an excellent idea to use your terrace as a greenhouse. My flowers are in full bloom at the moment.

My chives have been there all winter. And although they are not at their best, they have survived.

I haven't planted anything this year and now we're heading into the Fall season so maybe I'll get some pretty mums for my front porch

I love gardening. I even have a small veggie plot where I get a few veggies each year.
