After a long gap of 33 years when I contacted him over phone he could not recognize my voice. I just gave my name, Immediately he reacted with great happiness. 'What Boss, after a long gap ...how could you get my number?' I told him that a mutual friend who works in my office could recognize me by sheer accident when he met me in my chamber and that he had given the number.
We talked for about 1/2 an hour. After that he informed me that he was talking taking his car to the side of the road and that he would make a call after reaching home. He did it and the talk continued for an hour.
No status, no formalities, no language, but everything was relating to our school days to the day of see off at the railway station when I started for joining. The addressing and everything was quite as usual as it was during our school days..I really enjoyed speaking to him. He was a Director working in Chennai. He invited me to come to Chennai and meet him. I accepted his invitation and I am leaving to Chennai in the next month. Of course, it will be a great meeting.
We both appeared for the examination. We both were selected. I have chosen state service and he had chosen the Central Service. This is the only difference.
Everything depends on how we treat and reciprocate and there should not be interference of a third person between two good friends. This is the fundamental principle for survival of long childhood friendship

That is awesome that you were able to find each other again like that! Maybe you can meet up in the future in person.

Wow, it's pretty exciting to see someone you haven't seen in 33 years! I was disappointed the other day by something. I had found an old boyfriend and we had become friends on Facebook. Well the other day I realized I hadn't seen him in awhile, and when I went to his page, I wasn't on his friend list anymore! Now he is married and lives in Japan, but we were not inappropriate with each other, just like the regular Facebook friend posting. Neither of us had any romantic feelings or anything. But some people are jealous, maybe he had to remove me. But still, it hurt my feelings. He should have told me first.
That is very cool you found an old friend!
