Wow - it's freezing cold today!

OK, no, I have not gone over the edge - or maybe I have....you can decide later. It's just that all these discussions about 'heat' have left me 'cold'....it's summer, yes it's hot that's how it works people. Everyone complains about too much snow and ice and cold in the winter are the same who are now complaining abut too much heat and humidity. The white stuff and sub-freezing temps will be here before you know it ...If you can't take the heat, stay inside in the A/C and chill out! I don't complain about winter's cold. I love it. Heat on the other hand I don't tolerate very well. I do agree, there have been a lot of posts about this heat. I think because it's hotter than usual. I don't remember the weather being like this before. It's a bit mixed up. It makes me wonder how cold winter is going to get if summer is like this.

I've lived in the south 15 summers and this one is not different than the others...even though we have been in high 90's since May there were summers we were 105 in August.

@AbbyGreenhill Wisconsin is messed up this summer. We normally don't get the high temps and humidity until August. We are typically dry the month of July and wet with lots of rain in August, hence the humidity. This year July was wet and August is dry. After the first couple days, even the temps and humidity went down. We're having a great summer day today.

Our winter is beautiful here so no complaining when it's winter from me! But this heat-thank God I do have AC or I would literally be dying!

HI, how are you and the kids??? Haven't seen you in a while. You have to have A/C in the south.

Thank goodness for air conditioning. My town in northeast Georgia was known in the past decades for Manufacturing Companies and I have seen pictures in historical books of people working in those hot factories back in the day with no air conditioning. I don't know how they survived or lived long lives at all. I am looking forward to colder weather right now.

They survived all kinds of things we couldn't survive now I'm sure. It's cool right now, big black clouds over our head.

It's interesting for me in the summer as it relates to hot and cold. I work in an old historic hotel that has been converted into offices. The building is three stories tall, and each story has its own a/c system for each wing (there are three wings on each floor). But for some reason, on the third floor where I'm at, the a/c for our wing didn't include the last three rooms (one of which is mine). So, they had to put in a separate a/c system for just those three rooms. All the other a/c systems have thermostats to control them, but the a/c for my office doesn't have a temperature control. We have two choices: hot or cold. If the a/c is on in my office, it's 40 below. If the heat is on, it's 120. There is no in-between. So, basically, we never run the heat ever, but when we run that a/c it is literally like being in an igloo. So, in the summer, when it's 98 degrees outside, I am inside wearing a parka for my 40 below zero igloo office!

Ouch - that must be uncomfortable. Whey did they do it that way? That would make me want to change jobs.

@AbbyGreenhill I think they oversized the system. I may complain about it, but in truth I love the cold and I would rather have it freezing in my office than burning hot like the surface of the sun! lol

Some people are not that lucky to have A/C in their homes or offices. How about the people who have to walk to the bus stop in order to go to work?

It was really pretty cold here this morning. At 6 am there were 53.5 F only. The chilly wind from north was blowing. bringing cold water. At least today is dry and not hot at all. I have mowed the lawn.

We had quite a bit of rain while we were in NC. Home now - nice ride home, no issues. Ruby got out of the car and into the pool.

We moved south to get away from winter - we are lucky that we can pick up and move wherever we want to go.
