Bittersweet memories of my children with their father

On Facebook I see all the sweet photos of dads with their babies and it feels very bittersweet for me. I love remembering my husband holding his children but its sad their time with him was cut short.
My children admired their father. My daughter was 6 when he died and my son was 3. They are 12 & 8 now and have both lived longer without him now then they lived with him.
There are interests of theirs that remind me of him. I wish he was here to enjoy these things with them.

It just makes me wish I could be taking more photos of him with them as they grow up.

It must be very difficult, indeed. I hope your children will be able to hold onto the good memories they have with their father, even though they were so young.

It's hard, there's nothing to say nor compare what happened. But maybe that's just the way things are, but at least you married him and gave you kids, you see him in your children, a reminder of the love you once shared.

Yes it is just one of those very bittersweet things. Like watching my son laughing and loving the roller coaster he went on last week and seeing him look so much like his father and me wishing he was here to see it.

What a touching post. I'm sorry about your loss. I'm sure that even though their father is not with them anymore, they will always remember him through the stories and the memories that you tell them about him.

It is nice to have them but I wish we had been able to create more throughout the rest of my childrens lives.
