Yesterday when my niece and my brother made a short visit, my niece said,"look at those, auntie Thelma has a lot of fruits." My brother answered jokingly,"yes, because she own a fruit farm.. "Yes, the Tabuan (Sunday open market) is my farm," answered me laughing. I went to the open air market and I have bought plenty of fruits to eat. My eyes were so big and I couldn't choose which one to buy and so I just bought what I could not eat in Germany. I bought 1 kilo of rambutan, a huge watermelon for my father and 2 Marang fruits. Now I am making rambutan and watermelon smoothie for fighting against the heat of the weather. I made this for the first time and it was heavenly cold and delicious. What kind of smoothie do you make at home to combat thirst?

First time I've heard of a 'rambutan' smoothie! I usually cut up two medium sized pears, an apple, lemon, and some honey. I add some hot sauce for a much needed kick!

I have not eaten dragon fruit yet @ilocosboy. I might try that next time when I have time to do it and when I see it in the market.

Rambutan? You took out the seed one by one? Whew! You are very patient. Hehe.. Last night, we had a kiwi, green grapes and banana smoothie. It was partnered to our pasta for dinner.

i'm very curious about the rambutan, too. i mean, it's like a hybrid of lanzones and santol, right?

@wiLLmaH i know what rambutan is. i was describing it. the seed is as big as santol, right, but the flesh coating it is like that of lanzones, right? so i'm intrigued how she got the juice out of it. hope that's clearer now.

@sishy7 yes, it is sweet and it smells good. I love it but I can only eat it when I am in the Philippines. Its Marang season now and 1 piece of it is only 5 Peso. 1 Euro is 51 Peso so you can imagine how happy I am buying this fruit.

Marang fruit
@sishy7, Marang is a tropical fruit which looks similar to jackfruit and breadfruit from the outside.

That smoothie sounds delightfully delicious! I drink so much water that I rarely feel the need to combat thirst. But I love smoothies! Especially any smoothie with fresh peach in it.

Peach smoothie is also very delicious @MKAlubs. I drink mostly water but I need vitamins by eating or drinking fruits.

Of the fruits you mentioned, I only know watermelon. I'm very oral, so I'd rather chew my fruit than drink it. For me, ice water is my go to drink.
