I belonged to MyLot some time ago but didn't stay too long. When Chatabout went under I was looking for something to replace it and decided to come back here. This time I'm enjoying it a lot more.
I notice that a few people say they are back after a break and I wonder whether the disappearance of Chatabout has sent people here, as it is the most similar online site as far as I can see, or whether it is just coincidence as people come and go on various sites all the time.

Really, chatabout was gone. I haven't visited the site for some days. And now the site is already close. Oh my, what happened.

Not sure. There was no warning, just one day we all logged in and there was a bit white page. Some people said they had a message to say it was no longer available. It was about 10 days ago now.

Yes I was always paid even the week before they closed. I suppose I made around $300 in the time I was there.

I stopped going to Chatabout quite a long time ago. Just wasn't worth the effort.

I think Chatabout has good potential but they do not make good use of it.
They do not allow people to reply to comments left on the discussion.
I think that defeats the whole purpose of socializing.
Many of us are in Mylot much longer than any other site. I joined Mylot way back in 2009.
Many sites had come and gone while Mylot is still around, even if it did not always pay.

@sprite1950 No point having a site with so many rules, and yet they cannot make enough to sustain.
i think the structure in Mylot is much better.
The rules are lesser, and everyone is happy to share whatever they have in mind.

Well it's gone for good now but I agree it did not even allow one mention of another site so chat was very restricted. It's much better here.

Lots of people say they didn't like it although I loved it to start with. I hated the way they kept messing with the points system though. That put me off.

I did the rounds and worked on all the sites at some point. My problem is I get bored easily but I'm going to try hard to stick with MyLot this time.

My best earning site is ClixSense but I am enjoying it here very much. I didn't make much effort when I was here before so I'm trying harder this time.

I liked it for a long time. It was very versatile so hard to get bored. Many different sections to work on.

@LadyDuck You might have liked it. Earning was slowish but you could get there and I made quite a few hundred dollars over time.

Glad your back to myLot! Thanks for sharing. How long was Chatabout available? I pray I learn new ways on myLot to earn more without having to spend all my spare time working on it as I need the earnings to report to the assistance office for my medical insurance. Even if I only make $1.00 I'm eligible, isn't that awesome! It covers the 20% my husbands insurance doesnt pay for. I am greatful to God for that as it is truly a blessing from Him.

That is awesome news how MyLot has helped you with your medical insurance. Chatabout was around for about 3 years I think. No one expected it to go so suddenly.

@sprite1950 Well thats a shame they shut down after all that time. I sure hope myLot doesn't do that or I'll be out of a job that helps me get my secondary insurance that helps pay the 20% my husbands insurance doesn't pay

Yes, I'm trying to use this and ForumCoin as a way to fill that niche. I still miss the site terribly, but I think that's mostly due to the friends I made there that I now have no way of finding. I'm getting the hang on this place though...just not always sure what I'm going to write about.

*waves back* Yes I guess a lot of people don't know about the fb page. Have you looked any of them up on fb to see if they want to join? I only did the daily poll, paths and vids at the end but I used to get loads of vids on Supersonic. I really miss those.

@sprite1950 I miss the Supersonic videos a lot too! I've looked up several of the names on Facebook, but some people I haven't been able to find. There were also a few who used aliases, so they're even harder to track down.
