New City...Same Residence...

Of all things... The post office decided to get the city's name that I live in, changed. It is going from Atlantic Beach, to Jacksonville, which is the metropolitan area of town. They made some claim, that it was confusing the postal workers who were making deliveries. To me...this will be more confusing. Because it is still considered the beaches area. Plus... They never changed the zip code. So now part of the city of Jacksonville, will have the same zip code as Atlantic Beach. So to me this would make it harder for the postal workers, because each area of Jacksonville has it's own zip code, and does not duplicate any other area of town. Now there will be two cities with the same zip code. Crazy if you ask me. Even though I am still here at the beach...I liked my city being called Atlantic Beach, for two reasons: 1: It has the word beach in it, and Jacksonville is more inland, so it does not feel the same. 2. Before I left the area 36 years ago, I lived in the same area. So...it brought back some good memories, to be in this area of town again. Even though a lot of things have changed since the last time I lived here, it still has a lot of the same things. Oh well... So much for memories... Sigh...
