A difficult day.

I cleaned up the house with Leticia, we ate lunch and then went to the supermarket to buy a couple of things for tea time with my friends. Just as I opened the door, the phone rang. It was Claudia. She was very agitated and told me that I must take a taxi immediatly to go and babysit my grandchildren as she had to take Rafael in a hurry to the hospital. I told her that I had my friends over, my mind in a blurr. She told me I must do as she said and that she take me back home later on. I did not understand anything. So I called my friends and told them that I had to leave for Claudia´s house, that there seemed to be a medical emergency. We decided that I´d call when I returned. When I was at Claudia´s, she called and told me what had happened. Rafael was pruning some roses and he had "pruned" one of his index fingers. He required quite a complicated surgery. It wasn´t just a couple of stitches as I first thought. Claudia brought me home and I had a nice but very late tea. I had bought sweet rolls, 2 different types of cheese and some ham. I am very sorry for my son in law. He had no pain when he came back from the hospital, but tonight the pain will be unbearable.

I am glad that your son in law is doing better. I am sure your daughter was very upset and scared when it happened. It is good that you were able to go to her house and stay there while she went to be with her husband. I hope he recovers quickly. I am glad that you still had time for your tear even though it was late.

I´m worried for poor Rafael. I did scold him when he came home, but he was happy that I did it. He saw it was because I cared.

Wow, that's a surprising accident. He was pruning the roses and accidentally pruned his finger. How could that happen ? I also cut the bushes and plants in our garden, I use big cutter for pruning and I hold it with both hands and the blades squeeze the branch, so I'm not even close to cut a finger. Maybe he used a hacksaw ? I hope your son in law will get healthy soon or at least will find alternatives for the finger, maybe using the other fingers... It sure was a difficult day.
