Do you use broom when cleaning your yard?

Living in the Philippines keep myself busy. I have always something to do. Though I have a cousin who help with me at home, there are still a lot of things to do. One of the household chores that I like, is sweeping the leaves of the trees and other plant leaves that are scattered around the front yard.
It was windy these last few days and so there were loads of leaves on the ground. I swept them in the morning after drinking my first mug of tea and in the late afternoon before I watered the plants.
Now I was wondering what kind of broom are you using to sweep the leaves from the ground. Do you use the leaves for your compost or do you burn them? I am composting them for my garden use. How about you?
The photo is the Philippines broom we use in cleaning the yard.

Yeah I just use a broom to clean out those poops the dogs made up in the terrace. We need these brooms to clean the back yard because of the leaves.

Our broom are different, I imagine the same that you use in Germany. We are not allowed to burn the leaves because they pollute. We put them in bags and, every Tuesday, we bring the bags on the main road where they are collected by the Municipality.

in the philippines, the walis tingting (stick broom) is for the yard or garden, while the walis tambo (soft broom) is for the house/indoors.
it's funny how you used to go to the wet market or small talipapa to buy them. now you see them in grocery stores and supermarkets.
what i'm curious about is do you use brooms when your floor is carpeted or just vacuum everything?

I agree with you @hereandthere. When I am in Germany, I use vacuum cleaner. Our floor is no longer carpeted due to my mites and dust allergy.

We use a rake for leaves. And we compost them. I do have a broom, nothing as beautiful as the broom in your photo, it sits on my porch and we use it to brush the leaves off the porch. i am surrounded by huge trees.

I would use a rake to get up leaves. But right now I took my rake apart so I could use the stick part as a staff when I'm learning shaolin kung fu.

We also use that broomstick. I do not like the idea of burning the leaves; just let it rot and be a fertilizer later on.

I usually use a rake which is easier to use than a broom.
