Can you imagine being on vacation and finding out through an email that you got hired for a new job? That is what happened last August when our younger son and fiancé were on their Ireland/France vacation. His fiancé received an email from a prestigious theater that the job was hers. She had to borrow a phone to speak to her boss, since they didn't activate their cell phones for international calling. Whatsapp and WiFi is what they use. It happened again. She has been in the running for director of the theater for months. Her boss emailed her in Mexico last week and asked if she could get to a phone. She couldn't, and he didn't have Whatsapp to receive a phone call. She is now director of the theater, gets a huge raise, and officially begins next Monday!!!! We are so proud, considering the few people we know she beat out for the position. Btw, not knowing didn't ruin her vacation. She felt pretty confident when she received an email on her vacation from her boss.

I remember when that happened a year ago, good for her to move up to the director's position. Our son's fiancé had an email while they were in Poland earlier this year to complete testing, it was a time sensitive email and she almost didn't make that deadline-but in the end she did and she was successful.

She is quite thrilled. A man who works at a talented and gifted high school for the performing arts and runs a theater, and for whom she directs and produces, was in the running for director. He asked her if she would mind, and she told him that she wouldn't. He just bought a house and has a baby on the way, so she felt bad for him. That's the kind of person she is. We are thrilled for her and the huge pay raise for her. They will need it when they marry, buy a new house, and have kids of their own. I also remember you mentioning that about her having to complete a test. Glad that she was successful, too.

Thank you. She doesn't act, but directs, produces, writes grants, and educates children on the arts and their importance. She was doing the previous director's job, because she was inept and couldn't use a computer! Lol!

It's wonderful to experience such circumstances. If she truly wants that job and is happy for it, then everything is good. I didn't experience that and probably, I may never experience getting a job while on vacation. However, someday, I might be on vacation and calling some applicant that he or she is hired. That would be great and wonderful too.
