Has anyone tried a herbal remedy to treat anxiety?

I suffer from mild anxiety. Sometimes there is no real reason for it but I will wake in the morning and feel that something is wrong, even though it might be something very small or even nothing at all.
I am going to try a herbal remedy which has very good reviews and wonder whether anyone else has tried something similar. Even if it only works as a placebo it will be worth it.

I used to take omega 3 so maybe I will try that because it's good for you anyway :)

I'm out all the time walking my dogs and it helps but doesn't cure it.

@sprite1950 But are you taking some maintenance medicines ? A doctor said that if we are we should consult them first before taking some herbal medicines.

@SIMPLYD No I have really good health and although I'm in my 60s I had a health check a few months ago and I'm perfectly well. I have an ectopic heartbeat sometimes which causes palpitations but don't need meds for it.

I will, I'm quite sceptical about these things so I think I will know if it's working or whether it is acting as a placebo.

Bananas have dopamine. Dopamine makes us feel happy. An hour of a very funny movie can give you dopamine but a piece of banana can give you the same amount of dopamine.

@hereandthere Yup a Piece of Banana is like an hour of a very funny comedy. So not only bananas fight cramps, it also fights anxiety and depression.

Just for a while? Does that mean it's not working now?

@sprite1950 I was told you needed topups
I was rather more than anxious I was paranoid for various reasons.
I had to take haldol for a while then diazepam then I had hypnotherapy and CBT/NLP and got a lot better.

I should drink ginger tea as I've heard it helps with anxiety.

@sprite1950 it helps a lot but not advisable for pregnant and persons with heart ailment. Sometimes I drink it with milk. If I have a sore throat I add squeezed golden lime instead of milk.

Panax ginseng is a good herbal cure for anxiety, i was a young med rep when it was introduced in our country in the form of capsules.

@sprite1950 I had read that anxiety attack can really lead to stress. We just need to deal with the stressors.

If you have no physical problems and can do either sports or at least walk a fair amount ( the anxiety may keep you immobilized) I would try being as active as possible and or find trustworthy people to be around and be prepared for rude people knowing what to say and when, yes something herbal then should be enough if it's that mild.

I tried the herbal remdy and to be honest I don't think it made any difference. Maybe you have to believe it will work before it has any effect and I'm a rather sceptical person.

I'm not really good at recommending things, but many people say chamomile tea can help you to relax and calm down.

There is something by Natures Nectar , called Keep Calm, Nutritional Support Supplements, they do keep you calm, and it says to take two, but I take just one, as they do make me sleepy.

Yes I sometimes think that about myself. My problems are small compared to some.
