I planted some seeds last week.Of all of them, lettuce is on more danger.
I have some small kale plants and they are thriving. Once they are like they are now, nothing will stop their growth. And arugule just came out too and I´ll have enough To give away.
But lettuce is another matter until they come out and start to get big. Then I can transplant themand not worry about them at all.
Springtime has its ups and downs.
Do you plant anything at this timeof the year? I plant some veggies even in winter.

It's summer here, I have planted during spring, now the vegetable garden is full of tomatoes, zucchini, bell peppers, cucumber and many herbs. I will plant again in autumn, those vegetables that grow in winter, like cabbages, kale and spinach.

@marguicha It's useful in winter and even at the end of summer. I move some potted tomatoes there, when the days start to be cold.

@marguicha Oops, I meant to say this isn't the time of year to plant anything here where I live.

@marguicha They are when the weather cooperates. We have a rather dry climate and it gets pretty hot in the summer, so those crops don't do well then.

@marguicha Because they wouldn't mature in time before the frosts came.

I don't plant things because I cannot for the life of me get anything going or keep things alive. I have tried in the past...and failed.

Here in the UK it is now too late for beans, squashes, tomatoes and many others but I can still plant radishes plus Chinese vegetables and a number of leafy salad crops. My biggest challenge is preserving what is already growing. Slugs and snails are a huge problem, especially after rain, and, as an organic gardener, I refuse to use chemical pest killers.

I once went snail hunting at night and the lil beasts did not do so much damage. I´d eat the snails if I knew how to prepare them.
