At the restaurant we went last night we got dessert that was cooked bacon, that was dipped in chocolate and covered in almond slices. It was three beautiful slices of bacon and they tasted so very good. I've never had this kind of dessert but it was so very good. I've always wanted to try it before since I'm a big liber of eating bacon. Yummy!

I love chocolate. I love bacon. But I don't love chocolate with bacon ! My friend gave me a chocolate bar with bacon bits in it. This was possibly the worst chocolate I ever had , but maybe it was just that product. Maybe a freshly made dessert like this would taste better!

@ShyBear88 Seriously, the candy bar was super gross. So was this a warm or cool dessert? Maybe temperature makes a difference too. I have no idea where I could try this - maybe I'll have to make it next Sunday breakfast at home . Is that almonds I see?

Fresh dipped anything in chocolate is always good. I wouldn't do a candy bar like that it just sounds grosses. If you get a chance to reunite fresh take a chance on it you might like it if not then you know every again for sure.

@much2say this was served at room temp, so the bacon was cooked then dipped in the chocolate and left sitting in room temp so the chocolate couldn't melt but harden a little bit. It was good at room temp and the bacon wasn't cold. yes there is almonds on it as well. I could do this myself if I had left over bacon after cooking and dip it in my own chocolate. I've done that before with marshmallows.

How was the chocolate itself ? was it bitter or sweet ? I don't like mixing salty and sweets, but, If some salt seeds are put in a sweet chocolate, the sweet taste gets emphasized, being more sweet. :-) Is there a kosher alternative for a bacon ?

@ShyBear88 All, right, so, maybe I will try a chicken instead. I will melt some bitter chocolate and try it together.

the chocolate it's self was semi sweet. If you don't like or can't have bacon turkey back is the other option but I don't know how good turkey bacon is with chocolate since I've never hard of turkey back and chocolate combo together. I have heard of chocolate and pigs bacon together. it is a good combo since bacon is normally salty. I like salty and sweet together.

I tried this on one of our random road trips. We found it at a farmers market and it was different but good.

This does not sound good to me at all but bacon seems to be something that goes with many things. I don't eat meat so I would never try this. I have never heard of bacon covered with chocolate before.

It's a very good combo the salt and sweet go together that's why they pair well.

It looks bizarre, lol. BUT I love bacon and I love chocolate, so why not? That might be the most inventive dessert in the country, lol
